XVI CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE PIANO

“PEQUEÑOS GRANDES PIANISTAS”

RULES

 

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Bell’Arte Europa International Cultural Society announces the sixteenth edition of the International Piano Competition "Pequeños Grandes Pianistas".

The competition is open to participants of all nationalities.

All underage contestants must submit a parental or guardian authorization.

Performers who have won the First Prize in previous editions of the "Little Great Pianists" Competition may not participate in the same category in which they were awarded.

 

VENUE AND DATE

The competition will take place in Sigüenza (Guadalajara, Spain), at the 'El Pósito' Auditorium, on July 25, 26, and 27, 2025.

 

 

CATEGORIES

 

There are three categories:

Category A: Young pianists born on or after January 1, 2006.

Category B: Young pianists born on or after January 1, 2011

Category “Amateurs”: Non-professional pianists born before January 1, 1995.

 

All contestants may participate in their corresponding age category and/or in the higher category if they wish.

Friday, July 4, 2025

  • Deadline for registration.

 

Friday, July 25, 2025

  • Reception of participants at the “El Pósito” Auditorium.

  • Presentation of the competition and draw for the order of participation.

Saturday, July 26, 2025

  • Preliminary rounds for Categories A and B.

  • Performances for the "Amateurs" category.

 

Sunday, July 27, 2025

  • Final round of Category B.

  • Final round of Category A.

  • Award ceremony.

  • Winners’ concert.

  • Closing of the competition.

 

REGISTRATION

The deadline for registration is set for July 4, 2025.

To formalize the registration, the following documents must be submitted:

  • A copy of the ID card, passport, or family book as an official proof of the participant's age.

  • The registration form, duly completed in all its terms. In the case of underage contestants, a signed authorization from a parent or guardian is required.

  • A photograph indicating the participant’s full name.

  • For the "Amateurs" category only: A work certificate proving that the contestant does not work as a professional pianist.

  • Proof of payment of the registration fees: Each contestant must pay the corresponding registration fee for their category:

    • Category A: €60

    • Category B: €50

    • Category “Amateurs”: €75 Payment should be made to the following account, specifying the participant’s name and category:

Participants in the Bell’Arte Piano Masterclass must pay a fee of €25.

For participants residing outside Spain, the registration fee can be paid on July 25, before the competition’s opening ceremony.

REPERTOIRE

Category A:

Preliminary round:

  • First movement of a Sonata or a set of variations by M. Clementi, J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven, or F. Schubert.

  • Free-choice program.

    The duration of this round must be between 10 and 15 minutes.

Final round:

  • A freely chosen work by J. S. Bach.

  • A freely chosen etude.

  • Free-choice program.

    The duration of this round must be between 10 and 25 minutes.

 

 

Category B:

 

Preliminary round:

  • A freely chosen etude.

  • Free-choice program.

    The duration of this round must not exceed 15 minutes.

Final round:

  • A freely chosen work by J. S. Bach.

  • Free-choice program.

    The duration of this round must not exceed 20 minutes.

 

 

Category “Amateurs” (single round):

  • Free-choice program.

    The duration of this round must not exceed 20 minutes.

 

Repeated pieces from the preliminary round may not be performed in the final round. All pieces must be performed from memory.

PRIZES:

 

The following prizes will be awarded in each category:

  • First Prize Diploma for each contestant scoring an average of 95 or more points from the jury. This prize includes reimbursement of expenses and a scholarship for studies:

    • €600 (Category A)

    • €350 (Category B)

    • The First Prize winner in the "Amateurs" category will receive a trophy.

  • Second Prize Diploma for contestants scoring between 90 and 94 points.

  • Third Prize Diploma for contestants scoring between 85 and 89 points.

  • Scholarship for Masterclasses: The First Prize winner in each category will receive a full scholarship to participate in the Bell’Arte Piano Masterclass in Sigüenza during the summer of 2026.

  • Best interpretation of a work by F. Chopin: €250.

  • Best interpretation of a work by a Russian composer: €250 (awarded by the Glinka Lyceum).

  • Best interpretation of a Spanish work: €250.

  • Each participant will receive a Participation Diploma.

 

The jury reserves the right to declare any of the above prizes unawarded.

The jury may decide to award any of the prizes ex aequo. In this case, the prize will be shared equally.

 

JURY

 

The jury will be composed of internationally renowned concert performers and pedagogues, as well as representatives from various conservatories and educational institutions.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • All competition rounds will be open to the public. The organization reserves the right to allow audio or video recordings in the competition hall.

  • The jury’s decisions will be final, both in the preliminary rounds and the final.

  • The jury reserves the right to interrupt performances exceeding the designated time limit.

  • Acceptance of prizes in all categories entails mandatory participation in the closing concert.

  • Contestants who fail to appear when called by the jury may forfeit their right to compete.

  • Accommodation: The organization will provide information regarding lodging options.

  • All underage participants must be accompanied by an adult, as the competition organizers will not be responsible for any incidents involving participants during the event.

  • Registration for the competition implies full acceptance of these rules.

INTERPRETATION

Should any dispute arise regarding the interpretation of any part of the rules and regulations of the “Pequeños Grandes Pianistas” competition, the Spanish version shall prevail.

The Organisation reserves the right to amend any of the rules or regulations contained herein if deemed necessary.
